What to Expect on Your First Chiropractic Visit at Tailored Health, Burnaby
Visiting a chiropractor for the first time can feel a little unknown. This page explains exactly what to

arrive feeling informed, comfortable and confident about your care.
Before You Arrive at Our Burnaby Clinic
Once your appointment is booked, you’ll receive a confirmation email with intake forms to complete

symptoms. We’ll ask about your main concerns or goals, previous injuries or health history, daily
activities, work demands and any sports or exercise you enjoy.

If you have any relevant imaging (such as X-rays, MRI reports or other assessments), you’re welcome

Treatment on Your First Chiropractic Visit
Reviewing Findings and Next Steps
Your first chiropractic appointment in Burnaby always begins with a conversation. This is your opportunity to share what brought you in and what you’re hoping to get out of chiropractic care.

What we'll discuss

We’ll talk through how long your concern has been present, what makes it better or worse, how it
affects your daily life and what your short- and long-term health or movement goals are. Questions
are always encouraged, and this visit is very much a collaborative process.
Following the consultation, we’ll complete a comprehensive chiropractic assessment to better understand how your body is moving and functioning.

Your assessment may include

This can include postural observation, joint and movement testing, muscle and neurological checks
and functional movement assessments related to your work, lifestyle or sport.

The goal of the assessment is to identify why something may be happening, not just where you feel
discomfort or pain.
In most cases, treatment begins on the first visit. All chiropractic care at our Burnaby clinic is individualized and tailored to your comfort level, preferences and goals.

Treatment May Include

Your treatment may involve chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue or muscle work, joint mobilizations, stretching and movement or exercise guidance.

If treatment is not appropriate on the first visit, we’ll clearly explain why and discuss next steps or referrals if needed.
At the end of your appointment, we’ll go over our assessment and share what we’ve observed in a clear and collaborative way.

What to expect

You’ll leave with a solid understanding of your body’s current function, the areas we’re focusing on and suggested next steps for your care. Our goal is to make sure you feel informed and
confident about your plan, without any pressure, just clarity and support.
What to wear to your chiropractic appointment.
Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely is ideal for your visit.
Recommended
Athletic wear, shorts or leggings, and a t-shirt or tank top work well.
After your chiropractic visit.
After your appointment, you may notice immediate relief, mild soreness or fatigue. These are all
normal responses as your body adapts to chiropractic care.
You may also be given simple exercises, movement tips, lifestyle suggestions or ergonomic advice to support your progress between visits.
